1. How to Start a mail-in application:
a. New Mail-in Application: To send your application by mail , click on “ Start New Mail In application” link on the left menu. Creating an application involves following steps:
a. Select Visiting Country as “Canada”
b. Select Residing Country
o CVACs do not offer international courier service hence always use “Your own pre-paid labels (to send and receive applications), If Residing Country is other than “USA”. FedEx pre-paid are not acceptable.
c. Select Center: As per your preference - select New York or Los Angeles as your application CentreIMPORTANT NOTE: The VAC in Los Angeles no longer accepts Study Permit or Work Permit applications. Please submit your Study Permit and Work Permit applications by mail or in person to the VAC in New York.
d. Select Application Category
e. Click on “Continue” button to go to Applicant List Page.
f. Applicant list: Initially applicant list will be empty. You need to add applicant/s details to proceed to the next step..
g. Courier Selection: After adding applicant/s you will be asked to select the courier option. Select options based on your preference.
h. Post completion of above step, you will need to click on “Continue” to proceed with Courier Address page if CVAC provided courier service is opted. User enters address, which is validated. If user opts for own courier label, then incoming and outgoing label numbers must be entered.
i. Value Added Services: User can proceed to select additional value-added services if applicable.
j. Application summary: User can see the courier address details ( if CVAC approved courier service is opted , and cart of the selected value-added services. Click on “Confirm” button to proceed with payment.
k. Payment: On successful payment, user is redirected to application and the application is confirmed.
l. An email will be triggered to the applicant/s after application is confirmed.
2. Print or Email Application Letter: To print an application letter, user needs to have the valid reference number. User can click on “Print or Email Application letter” link.
a. Enter the reference number and click on submit to get the applicant/s details
b. User can select the applicant/s to print and click on “Download application letter” button.
c. An email will be triggered to the applicant.
3. Retrieve Incomplete application: To retrieve an incomplete application, user needs to have the valid reference number. User can click on “Retrieve Incomplete application” link.
a. Enter the reference number and click on submit to get the applicant/s details
b. Login User can also add applicant/s before he/she proceeds with the pending application.
c. User selects the courier options and proceeds are per flow mentioned in point 1, step g onwards.
4. Download Courier labels: To download courier labels, user needs to have the valid reference number. User can click on “Download Courier labels” link.
a. Enter the reference number and click on submit to get the applicant/s details
b. User can click on “Download Courier Labels” button.
c. A pdf file with the courier labels will be downloaded to your computer.
