  • New York

    The Visa Application Centre in New York is now open for business as of Tuesday 23rd March 2021 and will provide the following limited services until further notice.

    • Biometrics collection for Biometric Instruction Letter holders only
    • Return of decision envelopes to applicants. Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the “Service and Service Charge Schedule” page of this website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC.
    • Paper Applications are not accepted in person/mail at the VAC until further notice.

      • Use the link under “Submit passport and other documents” for instructions on how to send your passport by mail to the CVAC using CVAC approved courier service
      • Return of decision envelopes to applicants. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, all passports will only be returned using the courier services offered by the Canada Visa Application Centre. The CVAC is offering courier services at a discount of 10% on the courier prices listed in the pricing table on this website. This discounted rate will only be available from 23 March 2020 until further notice.

        The Opening Hours of the VAC will be as follows, until further notice:

        Business Hours: Monday – Friday: 13:00 – 17:00

        Due to COVID-19 outbreak, the VAC may be implementing additional measures to ensure health and safety of applicants.

    • Los Angeles

      The Visa Application Centre in Los Angeles will re-open for business on Monday, 22nd March 2021 and will provide the following limited services until further notice.

      • Biometrics collection for Biometric Instruction Letter holders only. An appointment will be required
      • Return of decision envelopes to applicants. Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the “Service and Service Charge Schedule” page of this website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC.
      • Submission of passport upon receipt of passport request letter from IRCC (via post/courier only). Submission of passport in person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice.

  • Important Update. Please check the Special measures to help temporary and permanent residents and applicants affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID‑19) implemented in IRCC to answer your questions, and continue to check the VFS Visa application Centre website for updates on resumption of their services.

  • In the current circumstances, please note as well that IRCC will not refuse your application if you cannot complete the next step due to the novel coronavirus and that extensions were automatically given as per the Special measures. As this extension is automatic, you will no be sent an updated letter and you should not write to the visa office to request an extension or to request confirmation as we have insufficient resources available at the present time to respond to this type of inquiry.

    Travel Quarantine requirements for LA County are still in force. Only LA County residents can be seen without travel restrictions. Anyone coming from another county, out of state, or out of country into LA County is required to quarantine for 10 days.

  • New York:

    The NY Governor has announced that domestic travelers will no longer need to quarantine effective 1 April 2021. All international travelers must still quarantine.

  • San Francisco:

    The San Francisco Health Officer has lifted the Travel Quarantine requirements, although Non-Essential travel is still discouraged.

    When visiting the VAC, applicants will be required to:

    • Wear face masks fully covering nose and mouth
    • Maintain a distance of 6 feet between VAC staff and other applicants.
  • Please note: Only applicants with same day travel in and out of San Francisco County will be permitted to book an appointment. VFS Global staff reserve the right to check travel documentation to verify San Francisco Travel Order requirements and deny any and all persons who do not meet this legal requirement.
  • Important Update: TT Services proudly announces that 2 new Canada Visa Application Centres will be offering Biometrics enrolments in the USA. The new VACs are located in San Francisco, California and Seattle, Washington. These centres are scheduled to be temporary (1 year). Please note that the San Francisco and Seattle VACs will ONLY OFFER BIOMETRICS ENROLMENT SERVICES for customers who have already applied for a permit or visa and have received a Biometrics Instruction Letter from IRCC requesting the submission of their Biometrics. For any other required service, please contact the New York and Los Angeles Visa Application VACs
  • Important Update: New service charges come into effect on Sunday, 1 November 2020. You are advised to check for updated information on this website prior to submitting an application.
  • Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, the Visa Application Centre is only accepting applications for biometrics exempt applicants via the two way courier service offered by the VAC.

    All passports will also only be returned using the courier services offered by the Visa Application Centre.

    Documents and passports submitted using other courier vendor, other than the one offered by the VAC and pre-paid envelopes for the return of decision envelopes are not accepted at the VAC in New York and Los Angeles until further notice

  • IMPORTANT

    Following Ministerial Instructions issued by the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada on April 9, April 29, May 19, June 9, July 1, October 1, 2020 applicants can no longer submit an application for temporary residence in paper at the VAC. New Ministerial Instructions issued on February 1, 2021 have extended this measure until September 30, 2021 with some exemptions. Please check the IRCC website to find out more about these exemptions.

    Most applications for temporary residence must continue to be submitted online via IRCC’s website:

    If you submitted an application for temporary residence in paper to the VAC and are not eligible under one of these exemptions, your application will be returned to you.

    Please note that as of July 1, 2020, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada lifted the suspension on the processing of temporary resident visa (visitor visa) applications. Although processing of applications has resumed, travel restrictions to Canada remain in place. For more details, visit the IRCC website.
