  • IMPORTANT

    Following Ministerial Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration of Canada on 09 April 2020 and on 29 April 2020, applicants can no longer submit an application for temporary residence in paper at the VAC. New Ministerial Instructions issued on 19 May 2020 have extended this measure until 09 June 2020. All applications for temporary residence must continue to be submitted online via IRCC’s website: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship.html

    If you submitted an application for temporary residence in paper to the VAC on or after 10 April 2020, your application will be returned to you.

    Please note that the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration of Canada has also suspended the processing of temporary resident visa (visitor visa) applications that do not meet current travel restriction exemptions. For more details, visit the IRCC website.

  • Starting 30 March 2020, Jinan Canada Visa Application Centre will be relocated at 8F, Qianfoshan Building (Foreign Visa Centre Jinan), No.15-1 Wenhua West Road, Lixia District, Jinan, Shandong, China. The previous address will no longer be valid.
  • Starting 09 March 2020, the VACs in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Jinan, Kunming, Shanghai, Shenyang, Nanjing and Chongqing will only be open for applicants with a scheduled biometrics appointment only. At this time, other clients will not be able to visit the VAC. The Canada Visa Application Centre in Wuhan, China, will remain closed until further notice due to the Covid-19.     Notice regarding limiting bio enrolments for BIL holders only and online submission of paper applications:

    Until further notice, the Visa Application Centres in China listed above will only be permitting applicants with scheduled biometrics appointments to visit the VAC to provide their biometrics. At this time, only applicants with a Biometric Instruction Letter will be granted biometrics appointments. Applicants can contact the Contact Centre to schedule a biometrics appointment.  Submission of applications by mail or in-person at the VAC is currently not permitted and all persons wishing to submit an application must do so online via IRCC’s website: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship.html

    Notice regarding submitting passports by mail-in only

    If you received a passport request letter from IRCC and wish to submit your passport, you can send it to the VAC via mail or by courier. You will not be able to drop off your passport in-person.

    Notice regarding courier return of passports

    Due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak, it is strongly recommended that applicants choose to have their passports returned to them at an address of their preference by using the courier services provided by the Visa Application Centre.

    Notice regarding restricted access at VAC buildings

    Entry into the buildings where Visa Application Centres are located may be restricted by building management based on the health and safety checks conducted at each location. The building management reserves the right to permit or deny entry of persons into the building based on their evaluation of a person’s health status. Please note that the Visa Application Centre does not have any control or influence on this matter and must abide by the instructions provided by the building management.

    Notice regarding delays in processing times

    We are experiencing delays with shipments due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak and the associated VAC closures in China. Please expect delays if you submitted an application.  Please continue to visit this website for further updates and visit the IRCC website for updates on processing times.  Thank you for your patience.

  • As per instruction from IRCC, Canada Visa Applicants are required to install the following update before printing and bring the validated paper copies of the 2D forms as instructed via: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html. Applicants may need to upgrade to version DC August 2019 (19.012.20040) if the current version DC August is 2019(19.012.20036).

    A gentle reminder to bring all pages of the 2D forms. If the barcode page is not scan able, you would be requested to re-fill the forms manually to IRCC system which is running a Certified IRCC version 11 of Adobe reader at the internet kiosk in the centre.

  • Booking of appointments for enrolling your biometrics at the VAC is absolutely free of cost. No payment should be made to outside parties for the booking of your appointment. In case you are unable to book an appointment at the website, you should reach out to our Contact Centre and/or VAC directly.   • Important notice: Please be informed that the appointment scheduling service is mandatory only for providing your biometric information. Please make your appointment when you consider you have all the necessary documents.
  • Booking an appointment* with Canada Visa Application Centre to submit your Canada visa application is a free service. Beware of persons who may demand payment for it.

    The Premium Lounge service, which is available at an extra charge, is optional, and availing it is at your sole discretion. (At the stage Premium Lounge Services are applicable at Canada VACs in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Shenyang and Hangzhou.) Opting for the Premium Lounge service does not guarantee faster processing or a positive decision on your application.

  • Applicants requesting emergency appointments for the purpose of biometric collection may do so provided suitable proof of the emergency is presented at the time of the appointment. Suitable proof may include a note or other documentation from an official. Please note that this proof only needs to be presented and will not be collected by the VAC, and that this will provide an emergency biometric appointment but not affect IRCC’s processing time for the application. For any further information or questions, the Contact Centre is able to assist with any inquiries.
  • Please note, for the sole purpose of scheduling an appointment, CVAC will collect Personal Information from the applicant. A consent form will be required from the applicant authorizing the same.

  • The Electronic Travel authorization (eTA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals (apart from U.S. citizens and other specified exempt travelers) travelling to Canada by air.   • The decision to issue or refuse a visa is made solely by immigration officers of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). All applications will be assessed in accordance with Canada’s immigration visa rules and guidelines. Canada Visa Application Centre has no role or influence over the outcome of an application and will not offer any evaluative advice.
