VFS Global is pleased to announce the opening of the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) operated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ghana on October 18, 2013..

CVAC is the exclusive service provider for the Government of Canada, authorised to accept applications in all temporary resident categories (visitor visas, study and work permits) and travel document applications from Canada’s permanent residents in Ghana, Ascension, Benin, Gambia, Liberia, São Tomé and Principe, Sierra Leone, St. Helena, Togo, and Tristan da Cunha.

CVAC is authorized to provide administrative support services, such as; the collection of visa applications, fees and return of passports in sealed decision envelopes to applicants. CVAC can also assist in scheduling interviews on behalf of the Canada visa office.
The decision to issue or refuse a visa is made solely by immigration officers of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). All applications will be assessed in accordance with Canada’s immigration visa rules and guidelines. CVAC has no role or influence over the outcome of an application and will not offer any evaluative advice.
 
 
Step 1 :

Read complete information on the visa/permit requirements on the CIC website and download the appropriate application forms and checklist relevant to the purpose of your visit.

As of 4 September 2013, you may need to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when applying for a visitor visa, study permit or work permit. Find out if you need to give your biometrics.
Step 2 : Fill out the application form and other relevant documents.
Step 3 : We strongly advise you to read the attached privacy policy and to complete and sign the VFS Consent Form.pdf prior to submitting your application at the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC).
If a completed and signed VFS consent form in not included with the application, we will not be able to assist you, and will be obligated to return the application to you.
Step 4 : Pay Visa fees and biometric fee, if required, as per instructions in the CIC fee schedule. 
Step 5 : Visit your local Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC), make sure you bring your passport, photographs, completed forms and all supporting documents as per checklist and CIC fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied.

Important Note: If you need to give your biometrics, the CVAC will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application. DO NOT submit your application by mail to this CVAC.
Step 6 : When applying at CVAC, pay the service charges, submit complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of your application online.

Important Note: If you need to provide biometrics, your $85 CAD biometric fee covers the CVAC service charge for application handling.

Step 2 : Fill out the application form and other relevant documents
Step 3 : Mandatory Requirements: Read the privacy policy, fill out the VFS consent form and attach it with your application form. If a completed form and signed VFS consent form is not included with your application, we will NOT be able to assist and will be obliged to return the application to you.
Step 4 : Pay the applicable fees as per the following instructions:
IMPORTANT: If your application is received without the correct payment for both visa fees and VFS service charges, we will not be able to assist you and your application will be returned to you.

Payment Instructions for VFS Service Charges:

Provide a bank draft from Ecobank with the appropriate Service Fee.

The bank draft should be made to ‘International Organization for Migration’.
For bank drafts not issued by Ecobank, please add an additional US$25 to the draft to cover the bank clearing charge.
Step 5 : Mail in your completed and signed application forms and checklists , signed VFS consent form, along with your passport, photographs, all required documents as per checklist and proof of payment for visa fee and VFS service and courier charge fees (see payment instructions in step 4 above) Place everything in a sealed envelope and include self-addressed prepaid envelope and mail it to :

Your unique tracking number to track the process of your application will be e-mailed to you once your application has been reviewed for completeness by the CVAC staff

 
 
If you have received notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, your passport(s) along with the copy of passport request letter may be submitted through Visa Application Centre of your choice.

How to submit your passport:

Once you receive notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, you can submit the passport (s) and your passport request letter:

1. In person/ through an authorized representative at the CVAC
  Or,
2. By courier/mail to the VAC address mentioned on the ‘Contact Us’ page.

For Return of your Passport (s), you have the choice of;

1. Picking up the passport from the VAC or;
2. Sending a prepaid self-addressed courier return envelope along with your passport and request letter

The Passport Transmission Services offered by the VACs will enable you to;

1. Get your passport delivered to the CVO in a timely and safe manner.
2. You will be able to track the status of your passport by using the Tracking tool on the CVAC website
