HOW TO APPLY

Submit Your Application In-Person

Step 1 :

Read complete information on the visa/permit requirements on the IRCC website and download the appropriate application forms and checklist relevant to the purpose of your visit.

As of September 4, 2013, you may need to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when applying for a visitor visa, study permit or work permit. Find out if you need to give your biometrics.

Step 2 :

Fill out the application form and other relevant documents. For best results

  • Print on white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper
  • Use of a laser printer is recommended
Important Note: Please inspect your printed form to confirm that barcodes appear on the last page (page 5 of 5). Insert the barcode sheet on the top of the all forms. The barcodes should appear clear and be free of any distortions smudges or fading otherwise it may slowdown the application process.

If you are unable to provide all the supporting documents as mentioned in the official IRCC document checklist, you are required to fill out and sign the waiver form and attach it with your application form.

Failure to provide a completed and signed waiver form may result in additional delays or refusal of your application for a visa, permit or travel document.

Step 3 :

Mandatory requirement: Applicants are advised to read the attached privacy policy, fill out the VFS Consent Form.pdf and attach it with their application form.

If a completed and signed VFS consent form in not included with the application, we will not be able to assist you, and will be obligated to return the application to you.

Step 4 :

Pay visa fees and biometric fee, if required, as per instructions in the IRCC fee list and also pay the VFS service fee.

Step 5 :

Visit your local Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC), make sure you bring your passport, photographs, completed forms and all supporting documents as per checklist and IRCC fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied.

Important Note: If you need to give your biometrics, the CVAC will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application. DO NOT submit your application by mail to this CVAC.

OR

Send your application to the CVAC as per Mail In procedure.

Step 6 :

When applying at CVAC, pay the service charges, submit complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of your application online.

Important Note: If you need to provide biometrics, your $85 CAD biometric fee covers the CVAC service charge for application handling.

Mail Your Application

Important Note: If you need to give your biometrics, DO NOT submit your application by mail to this CVAC. You must submit your application in person. The CVAC will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application.

When sending your request to CVAC please do not forget to include a paper with your contact information like e-mail and telephone .

Step 4 :

Step 5 :

Mail in / courier your completed and signed application forms and checklists, along with your passport, photographs, Bank payment receipts (Visa Fee, Service Fee and Courier Charges) in a sealed envelope to Canada Visa Application Centre.

Step 6 :

Wait to receive email notification from Canada Visa Application Centre to know about your application tracking ID (in case it is complete) or email notification highlighting deficiencies in application (in case application is not completed). You should expect to receive tracking email ID within 2 working days from the date the application is received at the Canada Visa Application Centre. You can also opt for the SMS service to track your tracking status in real time. If you want to avail SMS service then please deposit GTQ 11.00, in addition to the service fee and courier return fee in VFS’s bank account.

You need to pay for the Courier Delivery of Applications Service, when the process is complete, your document will be sent to your home or office. The fee for this service is Q28.00.

Step 7 :

If you don’t receive any tracking email ID or information on your application within 2 working days then please write us, mailapplications.canguatemala@vfshelpline.com

While writing – please do ensure you provide the following information

  • Your full Name
  • Contact details
  • Airway bill number/ consignment number
  • Date of dispatch of your application

Note: In case your application is not completed then Canada Visa Application Centre will send you an email with details to let you know about deficiency (s) in your application. Please ensure you provide all the necessary documents to Canada Visa Application Centre within 3 working days from the date an email is sent by Canada Visa Application Centre. Canada Visa Application Centre will return your application in case you don’t furnish requisite documents in 3 working days.

Submit Your Passport

If you receive a notification of the Government of Canada requesting your passport, you can send your passport and the copy of the letter.

After receiving a notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, you can submit along with the letter of request in the following ways:

  1. In person / through an authorized representative in the CRSV
    • You are required to bring the IRCC request letter along with your valid passport.
    • Make the payment for the VFS service fee - The courier fee, is independent of the fee for the passport transmission service.
    • Your contact information, including your email, phone number and return address.
    • The VAC consent form.

    Or

  2. By courier / mail to the address of CRSV mentioned in the "Contact Us" page.
    To return your passport, you can choose from:
    • Collect passport CRSV; or
    • To request the return of the passport by courier; or
    • Send a guide Courier prepaid including the complete address where you want your passport to be returned along with the application letter.

Keep in mind that there is a charge for these services. The courier fee, where applicable, is separate from the fee for the passport transmission service. You can get the details here.

The passport transmission service offered by CRSV passports will allow:

  • Getting your passport to the OVC (Canadian Visa Office) will be sent quickly and safely.

Check the status of your passport using the tool tracking website CRSV.
