AFTER SUBMISSION

What will happen after I submit my application?

Once you deposit your application at the Canada Visa Application Centre, the CVAC staff will perform a completeness check based on IRCC requirements and will then submit your application on your behalf on the following business day.

Once the Canadian Visa Office has assessed your application they will make a decision and affix a visa counterfoil in your passport or otherwise issue you with a letter explaining why a visa could not be granted.

The Canadian Visa Office will then securely return your passport to the CVAC who will inform you via your preferred method of communication. An update will also be provided on the Online Application Tracking System that your passport is ready to be returned. You may then come to the CVAC to retrieve your passport or arrange to have it couriered to your address.

Passport Collection

There are three ways of collecting your passport:

  • You may choose to receive the passport through courier service. Courier service can be ordered and paid at the CVAC at the time of submission of the application. For more information, please, click here. You will be able to track your shipment on the TMM Express website using your courier waybill number received at the time of submission.
  • You can collect your passport in person from the CVAC. At the time of collecting the passport, applicant must present the original CVAC payment receipt and his/her original National ID card or other official proof of identification containing a photograph. To acknowledge the passport collection timings, please click here.
  • Through a third person: the original CVAC payment receipt, an original authorisation letter signed by the applicant, internal passport of the authorised person and a copy of its first page should be presented.
  • Passports of applicants under 18: one of the parents/legal guardians can collect the passport, provided he/she presents: the original CVAC payment receipt, his/her original National ID card or other official proof of identification containing a photograph, a copy of the child’s birth certificate and other marriage/name change certificates to prove the relationship. Otherwise a third person may collect the passport by presenting the original CVAC payment receipt, an original authorisation letter signed by one of the parents/legal guardians, a copy of the parents/legal guardians’ passport’s first page, a copy of the child’s birth certificate and other marriage/name change certificates to prove the relationship, internal passport of the authorised person and a copy of its first page should be presented as well

Courier Delivery of Passports
