Important Information

  • Important Update: Please be informed that starting from 04 November 2019, VFS Global will accept applications and collect biometrics at the Canada Visa Application Centre in (Kinshasa, DR Congo) under a new set of requirements and services. For information on the VAC service changes for applications submitted on or after 04 November 2019, please visit www.Canada.ca/visa-application-centre .
  • For applications submitted on or before 01 November 2019, the Canada Visa Application Centre will continue to provide services until 31 January 2020. During this period, the VAC will remain open for applicants to collect their documents. The last date for the collection of documents will be 31 January 2020. A notification will be sent to applicants when documents are ready for collection.
  • Applications received after COB on 01 November 2019 must be prepared according to the new requirements. If we receive a mail-in application after COB that was prepared according to the old requirements, it will hold up the processing of the application, and may result in its return to the sender.
  • For applications received on or before 01 November 2019, the VAC will continue to return documents to applicants at the VAC from 04 November 2019 until 31 January 2020. A notification will be sent when the documents are ready for collection.
  • The VAC will return all unclaimed documents to the IRCC Office on 03 February 2020. The IRCC Office will coordinate the return of documents for these applications.

  • Important notice : Canada Visa Applicants may please note that the VACs are experiencing technical issues with the visa application forms. Applicants are requested to use Acrobat Reader XI- 11.0.09 version to fill up the form, validate and print the 2D Barcode form. You might be requested to re-fill the form at the internet kiosk in the centre, if the barcode page is not scan able.
  • Booking of appointments for enrolling your biometrics at the VAC is absolutely free of cost. No payment should be made to outside parties for the booking of your appointment. In case you are unable to book an appointment visa the website, you should reach out to our Contact Center and/or VAC directly.   • Important Update to the Biometric Enrolment process effective 31 July 2018.

    Effective 31 July 2018, you may need to give your fingerprints and photos (biometrics) at a Visa Application Centre when you apply for a visitor visa, study or work permit, or permanent residence if you are a national of a country or territory in Europe, the Middle East or Africa, or if you are a national of country that is already biometrics required.     Scheduling an appointment for Biometric Enrolment is optional – walk-in clients are always welcome to submit their biometrics without a prior appointment. Note however that a planned visit with a preferred time slot via an appointment at the Visa Application Centre guarantees prompt service, thus eliminating longer waiting time resulting in inconvenience. You can schedule an appointment at the nearest Visa Application Centre, either through the VAC website or by calling the call center at +243 81 434 4466
    • Temporary resident visa, study and work permit applicants only need to give biometrics once every 10 years; and those who already provided biometrics also benefit from this initiative.
    • Permanent residence applicants will need to give biometrics with each application.

  • The Electronic Travel authorization (eTA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals (apart from U.S. citizens and other specified exempt travelers) travelling to Canada by air. The online application is available at www.Canada.ca/eTA
  • The decision to issue or refuse a visa is made solely by immigration officers of . Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
