VFS Global is pleased to announce the opening of the Canada Visa Application Centers (CVAC) operated by VFS DO BRASIL SERVIÇOS DE PREPARAÇÃO DE DOCUMENTOS LTDA. in three cities of Brazil. Canada Visa Application Centers in Brazil will be operational on the following dates:
Rio De Janeiro : 2 October 2013; Sao Paulo : 4 October 2013; Brasilia: 3 October 2013.

CVAC is the exclusive service provider for the Government of Canada, authorized to accept applications in all temporary resident categories (visitor visas, study and work permits) and travel document applications from Canada’s permanent residents in Brazil.

CVAC is authorized to provide administrative support services, such as; the collection of visa applications, fees and return of passports in sealed decision envelopes to applicants. CVAC can also assist in scheduling interviews on behalf of the Canada visa office.
The decision to issue or refuse a visa is made solely by immigration officers of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). All applications will be assessed in accordance with Canada’s immigration visa rules and guidelines. CVAC has no role or influence over the outcome of an application and will not offer any evaluative advice.
 
Temporary Resident Visa / Permits and Travel Documents Application Process

 
Note: As of 4 September 2013, you may need to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when applying for a visitor visa, study permit or work permit. Find out if you need to give your biometrics.

If you need to give your biometrics do not submit your application at this CVAC, as it does not offer biometric collection services at this time. Instead, apply directly to the visa office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Step 1 : Read complete information on the visa/permit requirements on the CIC website and download the appropriate application forms and checklist relevant to the purpose of your visit.
Step 2 : Fill out the application form and other relevant documents. For best results
  Print on white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper
  Use of a laser printer is recommended
Important Note: Please inspect your printed form to confirm that barcodes appear on the last page (page 5 of 5). Insert the barcode sheet on the top of the all forms. The barcodes should appear clear and be free of any distortions smudges or fading otherwise it may slowdown the application process.
Step 3 : Mandatory requirement: Applicants are advised to read the attached privacy policy, fill out the VFS Consent Form.pdf and attach it with their application form. Note: If a completed and signed VFS consent form in not included with the application, we will not be able to assist you, and will be obligated to return the application to you.
Step 4 : Pay visa fees as per instructions in the CIC fee schedule, and also pay the VFS service fee.
Step 5 : Visit your local Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC), make sure you bring your passport, photographs, completed forms and all supporting documents as per checklist and CIC fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied.

Important Note: If you need to give your biometrics, the CVAC will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application. DO NOT submit your application by mail to this CVAC.

Step 6 : When applying at CVAC, pay the service charges, submit complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of your application online.

Important Note: If you need to provide biometrics, your $85 CAD biometric fee covers the CVAC service charge for application handling.

Step 5 : Mail in / courier your completed and signed application forms and checklists, along with your passport, photographs, Bank payment receipts (Visa Fee, Service Fee and Courier Charges) in a sealed envelope to Canada Visa Application Centre
Step 6 : Track your application by using the tracking tool of your courier service provider to know if your visa application has been delivered to Canada Visa Application Centre or not.
Step 7 : Wait to receive email notification from Canada Visa Application Centre to know about your application tracking ID ( in case it is complete ) or email notification highlighting deficiencies in application ( in case application is not completed). You should expect to receive tracking email ID within 2 working days from the date the application is received at the Canada Visa Application Centre. You can also opt for the SMS service to track your tracking status in real time. If you want to avail SMS service then please deposit 4.02 REAIS in addition to the service fee and courier return fee in VFS’s bank account.
Step 8 : If you don’t receive any tracking email ID or information on your application within 2 working days then please write us . While writing – please do ensure you provide the following information
  Your full Name
  Contact details
  Airway bill number/ consignment number
  Date of dispatch of your application

Note:  In case your application is not completed then Canada Visa Application Centre will send you an email with details to let you know about deficiency (s) in your application. Please ensure you provide all the necessary documents to Canada Visa Application Centre within 3 working days from the date an email is sent by Canada Visa Application Centre. Canada Visa Application Centre will return your application in case you don’t furnish requisite documents in 3 working days.


 
 
If you have submitted your visa application online through CIC website (www.cic.gc.ca ) and received a request for passport,  you must send it to one of the CVAC offices.

You can submit your passport in person or through an authorized representative at the CVAC office of your choice (Brasília, Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo).  To check CVAC addresses and customer service hours, please click here.

Please note that any combination of the two options mentioned above can be used, for example:

You can submit your passport in person at CVAC office and have it returned to you by mail/courier;

  You can send your passport to the CVAC office by mail/courier and collect it in person;
  You can submit and collect your passport in person or through an authorized representative;
  You can submit your passport and have it returned to you by mail/courier.

Service fees

A passport transmission fee is applicable for each passport, regardless of the submission method used.

If you wish to have your passport returned to you by mail/courier, a courier fee is applicable per passport. Please note that the courier fees vary based on distance from the CVAC office of your choice to your mailing address. A courier fee schedule can be found at click here.

Methods of Payment of Fees

The passport transmission fee and the courier fee (if applicable) must be deposited in cash at the cashier counter of any branch of Santander Bank. Do not use ATMs or wire transfer as payment method. These payment methods are not accepted by CVAC-VFS.

Note:  the payment of the applicable fees can be made in a single deposit of the total amount due.

If you choose to submit your passport in person, you can also pay applicable fee(s) at the CVAC office with Visa or MasterCard debit or credit cards.

Important: When sending your passport to the CVAC office, make sure you include:

  The passport request letter you received from CIC;
  The original payment slip of the applicable fee(s);
  Your contact details: email, telephone numbers, and full mailing address.
