Introduction

 VAC closure notice:

With the lifting of the visa on citizens of Chile the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Santiago will close effective 28 November 2014.

Persons can collect their passports from the VAC until 12:00 noon on Friday, 28 November 2014.

For persons who have not yet received their passports before the closure of the VAC, please contact the Embassy of Canada to Chile in Santiago.

VFS Global is pleased to announce the opening of the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) operated by VFS SERVICES CHILE SpA in Santiago, Chile on October 24, 2013.

CVAC is the exclusive service provider for the Government of Canada, authorised to accept applications in all temporary resident categories (visitor visas, study and work permits) and travel document applications from Canada’s permanent residents in Chile. 

CVAC is authorized to provide administrative support services, such as; the collection of visa applications, fees and return of passports in sealed decision envelopes to applicants. CVAC can also assist in scheduling interviews on behalf of the Canada visa office.
The decision to issue or refuse a visa is made solely by immigration officers of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). All applications will be assessed in accordance with Canada’s immigration visa rules and guidelines. CVAC has no role or influence over the outcome of an application and will not offer any evaluative advice.
 

Temporary Resident Visa / Permits and Travel Documents Application Process

 
Step 1 : Read complete information on the visa/permit requirements on the CIC website and download the appropriate application forms and checklist relevant to the purpose of your visit.

As of 4 September 2013, you may need to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when applying for a visitor visa, study permit or work permit. Find out if you need to give your biometrics.
Step 2 : Fill out the application form and other relevant documents. . For best results
  Print on white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper
  Use of a laser printer is recommended
Important Note: Please inspect your printed form to confirm that barcodes appear on the last page (page 5 of 5). Insert the barcode sheet on the top of the all forms. The barcodes should appear clear and be free of any distortions smudges or fading otherwise it may slowdown the application process.

Step 3 : Mandatory requirement: Applicants are advised to read the attached privacy policy, fill out the VFS Consent Form.pdf and attach it with their application form.
If a completed and signed VFS consent form in not included with the application, we will not be able to assist you, and will be obligated to return the application to you.
Step 4 : Pay visa fees and biometric fee, if required, as per instructions in the CIC fee schedule and also pay the VFS service fee.
Step 5 : Visit your local Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC), make sure you bring your passport, photographs, completed forms and all supporting documents as per checklist and CIC fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied.

Important Note: If you need to give your biometrics, the CVAC will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application. DO NOT submit your application by mail to this CVAC.

Send your application to the CVAC as per Mail In procedure.
Step 6 : When applying at CVAC, pay the service charges, submit complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of your application online.

Important Note: If you need to provide biometrics, your $85 CAD biometric fee covers the CVAC service charge for application handling.

Step 5 : Mail in / courier your completed and signed application forms and checklists, along with your passport, photographs, Bank payment receipts (Visa Fee, Service Fee and Courier Charges) in a sealed envelope to Canada Visa Application Centre.
Step 6 : Track your application by using the tracking tool of your courier service provider to know if your visa application has been delivered to Canada Visa Application Centre or not.
Step 7: Wait to receive email notification from Canada Visa Application Centre to know about your application tracking ID ( in case it is complete ) or email notification highlighting deficiencies in application ( in case application is not completed). You should expect to receive tracking email ID within 2 working days from the date the application is received at the Canada Visa Application Centre. You can also opt for the SMS service to track your tracking status in real time. If you want to avail SMS service then please deposit 990.00 Pesos in addition to the service fee and courier return fee in VFS’s bank account.
Step 8:

If you don’t receive any tracking email ID or information on your application within 2 working days then please write us . While writing – please do ensure you provide the following information


  Your full Name
  Contact details
  Airway bill number/ consignment number
  Date of dispatch of your application
Note: In case your application is not completed then Canada Visa Application Centre will send you an email with details to let you know about deficiency (s) in your application. Please ensure you provide all the necessary documents to Canada Visa Application Centre within 3 working days from the date an email is sent by Canada Visa Application Centre. Canada Visa Application Centre will return your application in case you don’t furnish requisite documents in 3 working days.

 
 
If you have received notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, your passport(s) along with the copy of passport request letter may be submitted through this Canada Visa Application Centre. 

How to submit your passport:

Once you receive notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, you can submit the passport (s) and that request letter:
1. In person/ through an authorized representative at the CVAC

 

Or,
2. By courier/mail to the CVAC address mentioned on the ”Contact Us” page.

To retrieve your passport (s), you have the choice of;
1. Picking up the passport in person from the CVAC or;
2. Requesting return of passport by courier or;
3. Sending a prepaid self-addressed courier return envelope along with your passport and request letter
Please note that there will be a Service Charge for the above services. Courier charges where applicable are separate from the Service Charge applicable for Passport Transmission Services. The details can be obtained here.

The Passport Transmission Services offered by the VACs will enable you to;
1. Get your passport delivered to the CVO in a timely and safe manner.
2. Track the status of your passport by using the Tracking tool on the CVAC website
