HOW TO APPLY

Submit Your Application In-Person

Apply for a study permit, work permit, visitor visa (temporary resident visa) or travel document for permanent residents.

Note: As of 4 September 2013, you may need to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when applying for a visitor visa, study permit or work permit. Find out if you need to give your biometrics.

If you need to provide your biometrics, the CVAC will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application. DO NOT submit your application by mail

Step 1 :

Read complete information on the visa/permit requirements on the IRCC website and download the appropriate application forms and checklist relevant to the purpose of your visit.

Step 2 :

Fill out the application form and other relevant documents. For best results

Print on white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper

Use of a laser printer is recommended

Important Note: Please inspect your printed form to confirm that barcodes appear on the last page (page 5 of 5). Insert the barcode sheet on the top of the all forms. The barcodes should appear clear and be free of any distortions smudges or fading otherwise it may slowdown the application process.

If you are unable to provide all the supporting documents as mentioned in the official IRCC document checklist, you are required to fill out and sign the waiver form and attach it with your application form.

Failure to provide a completed and signed waiver form may result in additional delays or refusal of your application for a visa, permit or travel document.

Step 3 :

Mandatory requirement: Applicants are advised to read the attached privacy policy, fill out the VFS Consent Form.pdf and attach it with their application form. Note: If a completed and signed VFS consent form in not included with the application, we will not be able to assist you, and will be obligated to return the application to you.

Step 4 :

Pay visa fees as per instructions in the IRCC fee list, and also pay the VFS service fee.

Step 5 :

Visit your local Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC), make sure you bring your passport, photographs, completed forms and all supporting documents as per checklist and IRCC fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied.

Important Note: If you need to give your biometrics, the CVAC will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application. DO NOT submit your application by mail to this CVAC.

OR

Send your application to the CVAC as per Mail In procedure.

Step 6 :

When applying at CVAC, pay the service charges, submit complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of your application online.

Important Note:

If you need to provide biometrics, your $85 CAD biometric fee covers the CVAC service charge for application handling.

We recommend that you do not book your flight before your visa has been issued. This will avoid penalties and refund problems with the airlines.

Mail Your Application

Step 4 :

Pay visa fees as per instructions in the IRCC fee list, and also pay the VFS service fee and Return courier fee. *fee mentioned is to be paid for each applicant separately

Visit any branch of Santander Bank in Brazil and make the deposit in cash at cashier to pay for the application processing fee and the return via courier fee in VFS checking account. Do not use ATMs and / or wire transfer as payment method. These payment methods are not accepted by VFS.

Please execute the deposit into the VFS checking account of the corresponding location that you will use the service:

The original proof of deposit should be presented along with your application forms, passport photos and other bank payment receipts (visa fee and courier fee).

Step 5 :

Mail in / courier your completed and signed application forms and checklists, along with your passport, photographs, Bank payment receipts (Visa Fee, Service Fee, SMS and Courier Charges) in a sealed envelope to Canada Visa Application Centre

Step 6 :

Track your application by using the tracking tool of your courier service provider to know if your visa application has been delivered to Canada Visa Application Centre or not.

Step 7 :

Wait to receive email notification from Canada Visa Application Centre to know about your application tracking ID ( in case it is complete ) or email notification highlighting deficiencies in application ( in case application is not completed). You should expect to receive tracking email ID within 2 working days from the date the application is received at the Canada Visa Application Centre. You can also opt for the SMS service to track your tracking status in real time. If you want to avail SMS service then please deposit 4,85 REAIS in addition to the service fee and courier return fee in VFS’s bank account.

When will you obtain your tracking ID? You should expect to receive an email along with your application tracking number and the courier tracking number within 2 working days from the date you completed application is received at the Visa Application Centre.

How to track your application:  Once you receive your tracking number, you can track the status of the application by entering your application tracking number and date of birth. On the link Track your Application.

Step 8 :

If you do not receive any tracking email ID or information on your application within 2 working days please send an email to the office that you had sent your application:

While writing – please ensure you provide the following information

Your full Name

Contact details such as telephone number and Email account.

Airway bill number/ consignment number

Date of dispatch of your application

Note: In case your application is not complete the Canada Visa Application Centre will send you an email with details to let you know about deficiency (ies) in your application. Please ensure you provide all the necessary documents to Canada Visa Application Centre within 3 working days from the date an email is sent by Canada Visa Application Centre. Canada Visa Application Centre will return your application in case you do not furnish requisite documents within 3 working days.

Submit Your Passport FOR E-APPLICATIONS

Step 1:

If you applied online (through the IRCC website www.cic.gc.ca) and have received a notification from the Government of Canada requesting your passport, make sure to submit to one of our offices, the following documents along with your passport:

  • The passport request letter you received from IRCC
  • All applicable visa application centre (CVAC) fees
  • Your contact information, including your email, phone number and return address
  • Two ways of the CVAC Consent Form

You can send your application:

  1. In person/ through an authorized representative at the CVAC

    Or,

  2. By courier/mail to the CVAC address mentioned on the ”Contact Us” page.

Step 2:

Applicants are advised to read the attached privacy policy, fill out the VFS Consent Form.pdf and attach it with their application form. Note: If a completed and signed VFS consent form in not included with the application, we will not be able to assist you, and will be obligated to return the application to you.

To retrieve your passport (s), you have the choice of;

  1. Picking up the passport in person from the CVAC
  2. or;

  3. Requesting return of passport by courier

Please note that there will be a Service Charge for the above services. Courier charges and the Service Charge applicable for Passport Transmission Service. The details can be obtained here.

If you are coming to one of our offices in person, you can make the payments of the VFS service charges directly at CVAC through debit or credit cards, Visa or MasterCard.

If you prefer to mail your application, please visit any branch of Santander Bank in Brazil and make the deposit in cash at cashier to pay for the application processing fee and the return via courier fee in VFS checking account. Do not use ATMs and / or wire transfer as payment method. These payment methods are not accepted by VFS.
